New Books on Kabbalah
Several new books on the Kabbalah have been published recently. We would like to recommend two new books that have been published in the last few weeks in Hebrew.
Nutrition of Body and Soul
The plants are the main source of nutrition for living creatures. Even mankind needs bread that comes from plants in order to live. What is the secret of the power of the plant world in sustaining human life? How can the plant world, which is inferior to humans, connect the human body and soul, as by eating plants, people gain the power of life?
’Sefirat Ha’omer’
The counting of the Omer is connected with the spiritual preparations for receiving the Torah. The process of receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai by the Jewish people more than 3,300 years ago, actually began 49 days prior to its being given, with the exodus from Egypt on Passover.
Reincarnation in the Passover Haggadah??
The Passover Haggadah, which is read at the Seder, tells the story of one of the ancient sages, Rabbi Elazar Ben Azariya, who said, “I am like a man of seventy years, yet I did not succeed in proving that the Exodus from Egypt must be mentioned at night." Simply interpreted, this sentence means that Rabbi Elazar Ben Azariya was surprised that the sages of Israel disagreed with his view that the Exodus from Egypt should be mentioned every night during the evening prayers.
Trust, Faith and Kabbalah
How do two (or more) people decide to trust one another? What influences us when we put our trust in certain people but suspect others? To some extent, it depends upon experience acquired in both conscious and unconscious events.
The Ari on Tzedakah
The Ari revolutionized the understanding of the ancient Jewish idea of Tikun Olam The Ari on Tzedakah (repairing the wprld), by explaining how each thought, speech or action (garments of the soul) of ours has a universal and cosmic effect on the physical world, as well as on the spiritual worlds,
The Importance of Saying Thank You
Saying thank you is not only a matter of good manners between people, but also a deep expression of hakarat hatov, recognition of goodness.

New Book on the Ari’s Kabbalah
On March 26, 2009 the ’Yad Ben Zvi’ Institute in Jerusalem held a festive evening in honor of the launching of Yosef Avivi’s book about the Kabbalah of Rabbi Isaac Luria – The Ari. The volume, published by the Yad Ben Zvi Institute, is the result of a unique research project that the author conducted over a period of about 30 years (!).
